Ileana Michelle De Jesus

Ileana Michelle De Jesus was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She is a senior at the University of South Florida and is double majoring in Biomedical Sciences and Mass Communications with a concentration in Broadcast News. She interned at WEDU during the summer of 2009 and assisted the production crew for “Florida this Week,” working the camera and setting up for the show. She was one of the on-air talents for the WEDU summer pledge drive and assisted WEDU’s programming director with research for the government funded public service program “Facing the Mortgage Crisis.” Ileana was also involved in the production of “Florida This Week: College Edition” and “The Tempo of Tampa,” a 28 minute documentary which aired on WUSF in May.

After graduation Ileana hopes to go to medical school in order to become a general practitioner or a pediatrician. Her long–time goals include finding a niche in the media where both fields of study can be applied.
