Spectrum Project 2 - Instructors
Travis Bell, who joined our faculty in 2012, is an Instructor in the School of Mass Communications. He teaches courses in the Multimedia Journalism undergraduate program with an emphasis on broadcast journalism, electronic field production, and sports media. Bell earned a M.S. in Sport Management from Florida State University and a B.A. in Radio/TV Broadcasting and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida. He worked nearly two decades in professional journalism, including 12 years in television news. Bell spanned news and sports as an anchor, reporter, and photographer. He spent eight years in top 20 market stations (WTSP and WESH) and was the first multimedia journalist hired at a network affiliate in the Tampa/St. Petersburg market. Bell remains connected in the multimedia industry as a freelance reporter and photographer for various regional networks. Bellâ€™s research interests are in high school athletics, sports media broadcast contracts, and documentaries.
